Mother’s & Father’s Day 2012
Dear Friend,
In 2005, I began the special Mother’s Day Carnation Mass, which many people have participated in over those years. Once again this year we will have this special Mass on May 13 and it will take place at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, 520 Sherbourne St, Toronto at 8:30 am where we will place a carnation for you at the altar where I will offer the Mass. The carnation becomes a symbol of your love for your mother, living or deceased, or someone who has been like a mother to you. If you are able to attend the Mass, you are most welcome and I will be pleased to meet you after the Mass. We do have a nice Mother’s Day card which you can order; it features a carnation on the front which connects it to our special Mass.
For Father’s Day, I will be offering Mass on the day itself, June 17 at Cardoner Jesuit Community, which is my community, and I will ask God to bless all those who names are sent in and will be at the altar during the Mass. You can include not only your Father, living or deceased, but also can include a person who has been like a father to you.
I invite you to participate in these special Masses for those who have been part of our lives and who are or have been close to us. All you have to do is complete the enclosed form and send it to us in the return envelope. If you want the Mother’s Day card, then please use the check-off item on the form and we will send it to you.
