On June 4, 2011, Very Rev. Archbishop Terrence Prendergast, SJ ordained Rev. Michael Legros Knox, SJ and Rev. William Njenga Mbugua, SJ to the priesthood at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in Toronto.
Fr. Michael Knox grew up in Toronto where he attended Cardinal Carter Academy of the Arts, concentrating on theatre production. His introduction to the Jesuits came through Our Lady of Lourdes Parish. Fr. Michael entered the Jesuit Novitiate in St. Paul, MN in 1997. His philosophy studies took place in Toronto but were interrupted by a year of preparation for the Ignatian Pilgrimage (ANIA) which took place at Martyr's Shrine in Midland before World Youth Day 2002.

Having completed his BA in history and philosophy, Fr. Michael went to St. John's, NL for his regency assignment at St. Bonaventure's College. This was followed by MA studies in history through a joint program at Memorial University of Newfoundland and Labrador and Oxford University, England. Theology studies were next at Regis College in Toronto. Fr. Michael's expertise in history has been in demand in a variety of circumstances which have included teaching the interpretors at Sainte-Marie-among-the-Hurons in Midland, and teaching the history of the Society to Jesuits in formation in other parts of the world.
A native of Kenya, Fr.William Mbugua came to Canada for peace studies at
Concord College in Winnipeg. But his spiritual journey led him, with the encouragement of his spiritual director, to explore the possibility of becoming a Jesuit. Having sorted out some immigration issues that delayed his admission, Fr. Mbugua (who goes by Mbugua rather than William) entered the Jesuit Novitiate in St. Paul, MN in 2001. Upon completion of his philosophy studies in Toronto, he moved to Montreal for regency at Loyola High School and then back to Toronto for theology studies at Regis College. He is presently completing the requirements for an advanced degree in theology.
