Terry Malloy dreams about being a prize fighter and runs errands for the corrupt boss of the dockers’ union. Father Barry encourages him to provide information to the courts that will smash the dock racketeers. Fr. Barry is based on New York Jesuit, Fr. John Corrigan, who worked with dockers.

One of the priests begins to doubt his faith while dealing with his mother's terminal sickness. The other priest recognizes the necessity for a showdown with an old demonic enemy.

18th century Spanish Jesuits build a mission among a remote South American Indian tribe. When Spain sells the colony to Portugal, the Jesuits are forced to defend all they have built against the rule of pro-slavery Portugese aggressors.
1991: Blackrobe (Canada/Australia)
In the 17th century a Jesuit priest and a young companion are escorted through the wilderness of New France by Algonquin Indians to find a distant Huron mission. The Jesuit experiences a spiritual journey while his young companion falls in love with the Algonquin chief's beautiful daughter. Dread and death follows their journey upriver.
2002: Amen (France/Germany)
During WWII SS officer Kurt Gerstein, with the help of Father Fontana, a young Jesuit priest, tries to inform Pope Pius XII about Jews being sent to concentration camps.
2011: The Rite (USA)
A skeptical seminarian reluctantly attends exorcism school at the Vatican. While in Rome, he meets Father Lucas, an unorthodox Jesuit priest, who introduces him to the darker side of his faith.
