In Memory of Father Edgar P. Burns, S.J.
April 26, 1925 - May 17, 2010
When a Jesuit dies a Memorial Scholarship is established in his name. Family and friends are invited to contribute. By contributing to a scholarship in Fr. Burns' name, you will honour his memory.
Fr. Burns' Mission: sent to India as a missionary and teacher.
- In 1951, he was assigned to Darjeeling, India, after being in the Order for 8 years. He was never to return on a permanent basis to Canada.
- He completed his Jesuit formation in India, studying theology at St. Mary's in Kurseong.
- He worked as a teacher, student counsellor, regional superior and treasurer.
- He was Director of the social centre of Hayden Hall for 17 years.
- In 2006, he became Director emeritus, Hayden Hall.
