Easter 2010
Dear Friends,
I am writing to invite you to join us in our Easter Novena from March 24th to April 1st. Your intentions will be placed in the chapel at Cardoner Jesuit Community and I will offer nine Masses for these intentions asking God to grant these petitions as Jesus prayed in the garden, "Your will be done." We ask you to support our prayers with yours and we ask that each day you pray the Our Father for all these intentions, the combination of these prayers will truly be a powerhouse of prayer.
The word "Easter" can be traced to the Norse word "Eostur" meaning the season of the rising sun and also as the new birth of spring. Both meanings reflect the Risen Christ, the eternal light and Son of the Father. As we prepare for Easter when we celebrate the overcoming of darkness by the Son of God, when Jesus overcomes death and brings us new life, a life lived in eternity in the presence of God, let us remember that God is always there for us and that He never abandons us. 2 Timothy 2:13 states: "If we are unfaithful, He remains faithful, for He cannot deny Himself."
May the Risen Lord enlighten and guide you always and may we shout "Alleluia, He is risen!" in thanksgiving for all He has done for us.
