Ania 2002 invites Jesuits and CLCers to assist as Spiritual Animators!

What does a Spiritual Animator do?
A Spiritual Animator will participate in the daily activities of the pilgrims. These activities can include sharing meals, celebrating mass, praying together, and traveling together. A Spiritual Animator will answer pilgrims' questions concerning the Martyrs, the Society's history, and basic catechetical issues. Furthermore, a Spiritual Animator will lead pedagogical sessions every afternoon for ten to fifteen pilgrims. NOTE: Spiritual Animators will not be legally responsible for the pilgrims nor will they be accountable for the pilgrims' actions. A Spiritual Animator's only leadership role is that of example.

Some Spiritual Animators may be asked to fulfill other roles, including:

Chief of a Long House:
After receiving training as Spiritual Animators, the chiefs will be assigned to manage the life of each Long House and its 150 pilgrims. The chiefs will work with the pilgrims' group leaders to maintain the daily schedule, informing the leaders of each day's events.

Liturgical Animators:
After receiving training as Spiritual Animators, the Liturgical Animators will assist the Liturgist in preparing the common and Long House Masses. They will also assist with the liturgical music, as well as coordinate the Ministers of the Eucharist, the Confessors during the reconciliation service, and the coming of the World Youth Day Cross to Ania 2002.

Site Animators:
After receiving training as Spiritual Animators, the Site Animators will be assigned to one of the four sites to assist the Site Managers in preparing daily activities for the pilgrims. The four sites are Ste. Marie Among the Hurons, the Huron Museum, Martyrs' Shrine, and St. Ignace.
